"A Country Western Music Expression & Art"

THE HORSEPLAY SONGMAKERS SHOW: This cultural arts performance is a musical tribute to the legendary Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Don Gibson, Johnny Horton, George Jones, Gene Autry, and The Sons of the Pioneers. Country Western culture includes art that is a historical part of America. We honor this unforgettable cultural art era by presenting this great show to the community. The HorsePlay band members are lifelong fans of the country western music culture. They share the desire to keep it alive so future generations can enjoy it too. Sharing this cultural art comes alive on our beautiful stage in downtown Ventura with a unique and interesting presentation. This show featuring members of the Songmakers organization, and is produced by Saint Pierre, (artist/ management/ performer/ and master of ceremonies). Steve Linsky brings a special banjo contribution to the stage that captures the sound and style of the art. You will discover some beautiful songs of the world with the Horseplay show, which Steve founded in 1995. TJ Zeiler on guitar and vocal gives the group a unique feel. This country player is the look-a-like for the famous late great "Burl Ives". And no country western musical art form would be complete without the huge instrument called the stand up bass played by Paul Tatto who provides good humor to the show. Finally, we have Gordon Roberts on fiddle and slide steel guitar, providing a funny accent and distinction with the finishing touch on their sound. Other highlights in the line up include Jackie Morris (Singer/ Songwriter), Sean Callero (16 year old Guitar Wonder Kid), Jerry & Glenda DeLong (Sweet Song Duo), and Saint Pierre**** (the Country Rocker) who started his art at his daddy's authentic country western bar. ****Saint Pierre appears courtesy of Green Light Records.

Jackie Morris, Featured Artist: is a singer/ songwriter in the show that combines the sound of vintage Folk/ Americana Style with very contemporary themes. Her story- songs are fun and thought-provoking… She completed two albums that have played on dozens of radio shows, including nationally syndicated "Car Talk" and her second album was among Top Albums and Top Artists of July 2008 on the Folk Music Radio Airplay Chart.

Sean Callero, Featured Artist: is the 16 year old Guitar Wonder Kid born in California, with an extraordinary passion and dedication to the art of the acoustic guitar. His many styles range from Country to Classic Rock, with amazing harmonics and quick pickin’ that make you smile. He won an award at the Topanga Banjo and Fiddle Festival, in a competition called "finger- pick guitar style".

Jerry & Glenda DeJong, Featured Artists: Be immersed in music with this duo, inspired by the Lynden Gospel Quartet and the Country & Western cultural arts. Family & the heart created the passion for this performance! Jerry has been singing & yodeling since he was a child on the ranch & farmlands of northern Washington since 1973. California changed his life on talent night at the famous Hollywood country Palomino Club. Heartland all- around performances and a TV show called "Heart of Western Music" are past billings. He is an active member of Songmakers which has been a great musical influence on his life. Glenda, his wife, plays acoustic bass on the stage. She is also gifted with a wide range of visual art including paintings, silk, carvings, dolls, photos, and embroidery.

SAINT PIERRE:  produces all genres of music in the cultural arts, with 4 music albums published worldwide and 8 music videos completed. He is a professional musician, band leader, master of ceremonies, and manages several performing artists, and music groups. He plans, sponsors, and promotes concerts. He has a 24 track recording studio, so he can do live recordings and music TV video. The newest project includes 30 minute cable TV shows. This is an artistic attempt, to bring back variety shows, and have the performing arts combined with the visual arts. Saint Pierre was raised in New England. His father owned a country western bar. But the person who gave him his start was his Grandma Marie Louise who went to Tijuana and bought a $5 guitar. She gave it to him and paid for his guitar lessons, for 3 years, at $2.50 a week when he was just a boy. Now his base of operations is at the WĀV, Saint Pierre is bringing his musical expertise to the Theater. He’s a man on a mission. It's the convergence of the performing arts and the visual arts so they can enhance each other. Saint Pierre’s vision is benefiting the community, both at the WĀV and in Ventura, "The New Art City".
